Addie's First Birthday Party

My baby is one! The year flew by. It feels like she was just born yesterday, not a whole year ago. Her birthday party was simple, sweet, and so much fun.

We celebrated her birthday with family. I tried to go with a teddy bear picnic theme, but I didn’t want to go too overboard. I wanted her party to be beautiful, but I also wanted it to be easy.

I found some cute decorations at Target, as well as plates and napkins. I used picnic baskets for decorations and we hung a garland of Addie’s photos for guests to look at.

Addie’s cake was a team effort for my husband and I. I had a meeting the morning of the party, so Jeremy baked the cake. Before the party I put it together and embellished it with blackberries - Addie’s favorite fruit.

She loved her cake! She even shared some with her cousin.

I just realized that I didn’t get any cute pictures of the cute food and drink set up. That’s because I was busy enjoying the day!

We served grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, with simple sides such as potato salad, watermelon slices, and chips. For dessert, we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores in the backyard. It was laid back and sweet. Before we ate I played games with all of Addie’s older cousins (and big sister of course). They had a blast. Overall, I think it was a successful party.
