Grow

Since it’s still January, I think it’s appropriate to share my word for the new year. My word for 2022 is “grow.”

Reflecting on the last few years, I have grown quite a bit personally. I have learned and unlearned, I have re-evaluated my beliefs and values. This year I am striving to grow professionally. I would love to see this tiny corner of the internet - this blog - flourish. I want to reach more moms, I want to create an income for my family, and I want this place to welcome others daily. I have big dreams for myself and for this blog. I want to write more. I want to take beautiful photos. I want to sell my crafty creations in my Etsy shop. This year, I want to grow.

I don’t just want to write my goals in a notebook somewhere to be forgotten about. I want to actually make my goals work. As I write the first draft of this post, I am taking the first step toward my goals. I am currently sitting in a coffee shop scribbling the first draft of this post into my journal. Getting myself here (without my kids) was the first step to growing this blog. Publishing this post is the next step. For so long I have put this dream away and thought, “I’ll do it later when I have more time.” I don’t have the time - I need to make the time. While that is easier said than done, it is not impossible.
