Easter Basket Favorites

As a child I looked forward to many things every Easter Sunday - going to church, wearing a new dress, a big dinner with my family, and of course, tearing into my Easter basket. Now that I am a mother, I look forward to taking my girls to church, dressing them up in new clothes, planning a dinner with our huge family, and watching them tear into their Easter baskets.

I tried to carefully plan out what I wanted to put into their baskets, but in the end, I went a little overboard with the fun toys. I did stick to my plan of not filling the baskets with candy. The baby can’t have candy yet anyways, but my big girl has a sweet tooth that does not need encouraging.

Jeremy and I chose home decor baskets from Target instead of traditional pastel-colored Easter baskets. We reused the same Easter basket for Belle every year until this year. I didn’t think I would be able to find a matching basket for Addie, plus I thought it would be a good idea to choose baskets we could use in their room.

Belle’s basket contains a Skipper Barbie doll and a baby, a movie, an activity book, a mini Hatchimals toy, new socks, and a small box of chocolates. I. chose to get Belle the movie “Rise of the Guardians” because it’s one of our favorites. It even came with a free activity book at Target.

Addie’s basket holds a Bible story book, a little monster toy, a light up phone, new socks, and a couple of her favorite snacks.

Both baskets are pretty simple, but I think that simple is better, especially when it comes to little ones. The most important part is that each gift is given out of love. I can’t wait to see their faces when they see their baskets Easter morning.
