A Letter to My Daughter

Dear Annabella,

When you were born, my entire life changed forever.

When I looked at your tiny, newborn face, my heart filled with joy. I felt like I had been missing you my whole life, and then suddenly you were here and my life was complete.

Watching you grow up for the last two years has been my greatest adventure. To celebrate your 2nd birthday, I want to share 4 things that I want you to know.

1. I love you...

And I will always love you, no matter what. There is nothing that you can do or say that will change that.

2. I will always be on your side.

I will protect you, I will fight for you, and I will be cheering for you on the sidelines of whatever you do.

3. You are your own person.

Even when I dress you like me and make you wear frilly dresses, I understand that you have your own personality and favorites. You're amazing, Belle. Don't ever let anyone tell you who to be, or what to like.

4. You can do anything and be anything you put your mind to.

I have never seen anyone else more determined than you are. I have seen you climb onto the counter to get a bag of cookies, even when you were told no. I have seen you go down the tallest slide at the playground all by yourself. I taught you to say "I'm strong!" instead of "I can't," because you are so strong and determined.

I love you, Annabella, and I am so blessed to be your mommy.
