Crocheting for a Cause

Near the end of October, I was browsing my Facebook page when I saw an ad for a health clinic in town. I have heard great things about this clinic and I wanted to find out how I could volunteer there. So I clicked on the ad and began browsing their website. I learned that they have a crochet group that meets once a month, so I quickly signed up to attend the meetings.

Last Tuesday night I attended my second meeting with this group. I feel so out of place yet I feel like it is exactly where I am supposed to be. Let me explain... I am the youngest member of the group by decades. Most of the ladies in the group have grandchildren. I don't have as many stories as they all do. The stories they tell are the ones you gather by only living for a long time.

As a crocheter, I do fit in with the group. It's exactly what I have been hoping for. I want to use my talents and abilities to help others, and finding this group was exactly what I needed. It gave me a new reason to crochet. We donate hats, scarves, and mittens to various organizations in town and around the country. Since I started attending near the end of this year, when all of their goals had already been met for events and organizations they are donating to, I feel like I am still observing. Next year I hope to do a lot more for the group.

Joining the crochet group has lit a new fire in my heart. I want to use Natti's Place to help others, and I feel that this group can open doors for me to do that. I can't wait to share more about this amazing group I am a part of.
